We are looking for an enthusiastic and excellent consultant perinatal psychiatrist to join our perinatal mental health teams in Devon Partnership Trust and Livewell.
The role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to build a new service, to work within highly skilled and motivated perinatal mental health teams. The post holder will work clinically with expectant, new mums and their babies and the wider family system. They will work within the antenatal care pathway and need to be able to work seamlessly with obstetricians and midwives. The successful candidate will have a key leadership role in developing and delivering perinatal mental health training to primary care, health visiting, midwifery and obstetrics, children’s centres and the third sector.
Working across organisations will offer the post holder a unique opportunity to work within the busy urban environment of Plymouth and the rural communities South Hams and West Devon

Perinatal mental health in Devon and Plymouth is an expanding service. We are developing our community services, an outreach service and our expanding MBU service. DPTs perinatal community team are the current holders of the National Positive practise in Mental Health Awards.
Our teams attract very high calibre team members from all mental health disciplines ensuring fantastic multidisciplinary team working.
We have embedded coproduction from the outset or our services, with mums involved in induction, interviewing service design, MBU design, training, peer support and pathway development
