We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery.

Our values

At Devon Partnership NHS Trust we not only recruit employees based on their qualifications and experience - we recruit individuals who possess (and are able to demonstrate) the behaviours which underpin the core values of our organisation.

These values include such attributes as showing a commitment to quality of care, improving lives of others, giving respect, dignity and compassion. We can bring those values to life in our everyday tasks by giving a smile; making time for people; challenging ourselves and others, and being open to new ideas.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community, regardless of age, sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, maternity/pregnancy, marriage/civil partnership or sexual orientation status. All part time, job share and flexible working applications will be considered and supported, where possible. We particularly encourage applicants with lived experience of mental health issues.

At Devon Partnership NHS Trust we want to attract and retain talented people and create a great place to work with a shared sense of pride and ambition. Our vision is to have an inclusive society where the importance of mental health and wellbeing is universally understood and valued. Recovery is at the heart of everything we do and we are one of the pioneers in driving forward the recovery agenda.

The role

We are currently recruiting to a full time Consultant post to join the multidisciplinary eating disorders team based at Wonford House, Dryden Road, Exeter. We want to recruit a consultant psychiatrist with a clear vision and collaborative approach to develop and lead a newly integrated community and inpatient ED service.

The established Inpatient service is The Haldon Eating Disorder Service and is commissioned by NHS England to provide 12 inpatient beds, as well as a day patient pathway for 8 people. The Devon Community Eating Disorder Service builds on the success of a 2016 pilot and offers consultation, assessment and dietician advice with links to Trust psychology services and inpatient pathways if required for patients 18 years and older with moderate to severe eating disorders. There is a history of innovative practice and involvement in research, with recent participation in the International Eating Disorders Conference, and routinely champions BEAT and local initiatives.
